I think the idea with Nylander is to get a full season out him, maximize his point totals and get the most trade value.

If it was going to happen it would've happened by now. Dubas is playing this perfectly by calling Paul Marner's bluff. He's left himself enough cap space to match any offer taking away any leverage another team may have.

This will drag on a bit but I'd be surprised if Marner isn't signed before training camp. Marner saw first hand how much Nylander missing camp and regular season games hurt him. In the meantime there's no real urgency for either side to blink right now.
